Glamorous Weddings: Couples are moving away from the casual and embracing elegance and sophistication. Practical, Fun, Memorable: Today’s wedding reception is marked by signing the couple’s engagement photo, candy tables, break-away vases, useful favors and sweetheart tables. Bold Jewel Tone Colors: The chocolate and blue of 2006 is taking a back seat to the bolder statement of orange, reds, rich purples, and golds. Square Tables: Clean, modern and versatile. The square table improves dinner conversation and is a wonderful canvas for interesting floral arrangements and centerpieces. It Not the Me Generation Anymore: Charitable donations in lieu of favors, green weddings, local vendors, local foods, are all hallmarks of the celebrations planned by modern couples who realize how fortunate they are. Destination Weddings In Italy: Florence and Venice are just the beginnings of the beauty and wonder that is Italy-the number one location for destination weddings in 2007. Lace Embroidery, and Other Embellishments: What is glamour without a little embellishment. As couples turn up the glam-meter brides are choosing dresses with more beading, lace, embroidery, color, and other embellishment. Much of this embellishment is focused on the back of the brides dress (guest do spend an awful lot of time with this as their vantage point). Couples are also taking the embellishments a step farther and lace, jewels, and beads are finding their way into floral arrangements, table décor, programs, menus and chair covers. Cocktail Hour Fun: Today’s receptions are parties from the moment the first guest enters the room. With different musicians, club-like atmosphere, and themeing, the cocktail party no longer takes the backseat to the reception. Unusual Wedding Locations, Configurations, and Composition: Couples are choosing interesting locations in the cities where they live, zoos, aquariums, castles, plantations, film studios, and barns. Destination weddings without the headaches of travel. Couples are also facing their guest, writing their own vows, incorporating their children and pets Mini-moons, Honeymoons, and More Travel isn’t just for after the wedding nor is it just to laze around the beach. Couples are traveling to places of historic relevance in the days following their weddings and are taking a little time for themselves away from the realities of planning in the middle of their engagement. And who said the couple or the groomsmen get to have all of the fun. Bridesmaids are traveling for showers and bachelorette parties whether to a spa or to Vegas the girls a getting away and taking a little time to play.
